Whitney Port Engaged

‘The Hills” & “The City” reality TV star Whitney Port is now engaged to her TV producer boyfriend Tim Rosenman.

Tim is said to have proposed in Australia with a rose gold engagement ring. And you know we love the delicate romance of rose gold!

There are no great pictures yet, but that is a high profile center stone! It suits Whitney’s hand very well, we think.

Our warmest congratulations go out to the cute couple, who met on the set of Whitney’s reality show.

Montana Honeymoon & Homemade Wreaths

“Think big thoughts, but relish small pleasures.” ― H. Jackson Browne, Jr.

As we all prepare for the holidays, we’re trying to focus on the big picture, while giving thanks for how fortunate we are.

This weekend, we’re dreaming big, and appreciating all the little things that add up to a beautiful life.

This week we watched Angelina Jolie’s big speech honoring her late mother. Extraordinary.

We loved this little picture of cozy love.

We’re dreaming of big sky country. Not everyone goes to the beach or leaves the country for their honeymoon. And when we stumbled upon this article (where we got that epic featured image above), we began thinking that honeymooning in Montana would be so amazingly romantic. Bison in the wild. Glamping. Skiing and hot springs. What is not to love?

A little style inspiration from a chic lady.

Big parties ahead! We enjoyed this, and just in time for the holidays. NY fashion designer and consummate hostess Lela Rose shares her entertaining tips.

Incorporating a little color for beginners, and how to do it well.

And some big pops of color worthy of a major celebration.

Big day hairstyles. And big deal hairstyles on a little girl.

Big hearts.

And a little housewarming gesture we love.

Mad Men Star Jared Harris Married

“Mad Men” star Jared Harris, aka, the dear departed Lane Pryce, married his fiancee, actress Allegra Riggio, aboard the Lady Windridge yacht in Miami on Saturday.

The rainy afternoon wedding took place on the yacht’s deck, and the bride wore angel wings (!) and carried a bouquet of calla lilies.

Afterward, they partied at Miami’s Eden Roc.

Engaged since June, Jared proposed with a custom ring in rose gold.

They met at Bar Lubitsch in Los Angeles.

We just love how happy this couple looks together. Congratulations to you both!

This week, we’re learning how to do more things, even better. So here are some clever ideas how to do a lot of things, a little bit better. If you have any great tips to share, tell us in the comments!

We Love: The Thanksgiving Wedding

Why have a Thanksgiving wedding? Well, if you just love thanksgiving to pieces, you can really claim it for your own. Some couples love the symbolism, of giving thanks for each other. And you can rest assured, everyone has the day off.

You will need to consider your guests’ needs, when planning. If you have a lot of guests joining you from far away, Thanksgiving is a hectic time for them to travel. But if your guests are mostly family and local, we say go for it!

Even if you don’t plan for Thanksgiving day proper, here are some Thanksgiving-style wedding ideas we love!

We love this Thanksgiving wedding! The couple owns a bakery, and their sense of style is adorably old-timey and quirky. Her bouquet is amazing, no?

100 Layer cake has a great slideshow of Thanksgiving tabletop decorations. They’re amazing for a wedding or just to wow your Thanksgiving guests.

We think this apple-themed wedding fits. Beautiful pictures. And these pumpkins!

And of course, a Thanksgiving wedding needs some feather inspiration!

Here’s a list of tips from the pros on how to do it well.

So what say you? Are you on board with Thanksgiving weddings?

creative party ideas & spiked hot chocolate

November can feel a tiny bit dark and drab, so we’re trying to create a warm & bright vibe this week.

And on that note, how fun are these party ideas from Apartment Therapy?

Whether or not you have a country house, woodsy-chic touches like these trays from Fog Linen and these bark-covered votives feel just right for November. Great inspiration for wedding decorations, too.

non white wedding dresses & the vera wang color collection

Why should the bridesmaids have all the fun? Brides who love color can personalize their wedding looks with a splash of chic, festive color.

Here’s one of our favorite mood boards, from Brooklyn Bride.

And bridal goddess Vera Wand has just debuted a bridal collection full of color.

And fashion bible Lucky.com posted this cool slideshow of non-white wedding dresses.

If you love colorful bridal attire, you might just love color in your wedding rings. Here are a few options for rings with color, that are still timeless and refined.

In fact we love “Color” as a wedding theme. Just check out our featured image, from Green Wedding Shoes. We love guest portraits at weddings, when they’re done creatively. And these guests are just perfection. Pure sunshine on a cloudy day.

Christina Ricci Wedding Details

Christina Ricci married James Heerdegen this Saturday in New York City at the Harold Pratt House and Peterson Hall on the Upper East Side.

The bride wore an incredible wedding dress by Givenchy Haute Couture, one of our favorites of the year! The demure dress has a chic edge, by virtue of shoulder cutouts. The white silk tulle with Chantilly lace appliqués and satin piping, embroidered with micro pearls, and matching veil kept the look classic bridal.

Christina personally picked out a ton of bulk candy from the classic NYC candy store, Economy Candy on the Lower East Side. (Maybe celebrities are just like us!)

The couple met on the set of “Pan Am,” and have been engaged since last February.

We’d love to see Christina in something goddess-worthy with a gothic feel, like Tempest.

We wish them all the best!

“I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.”― Oscar Wilde

This week, it’s all about the best, funniest, most inspiring things the internet had to offer this week.

Here’s our best news: There’s going to be a wedding in the Jeff Cooper family this weekend, and our Hyacinth Wedding Band was featured on fashion website Refinery 29, as one of their picks for unique platinum rings. We’re loving that!

And while we’re on Refinery 29, check out this little trip down memory lane: celebrity couples edition. (This was the best waste of three minutes. We totally forgot almost all of these!)

And the best snapshots of major fashion icons as trick-or-treaters. Adorable!
