Links We Love: French Polynesia & Doughnut Cake

Our friend posted on Facebook, “You can never hug and kiss your loved ones enough.” Which expresses our sentiments exactly. We want to spend this weekend holding our dearest near, and trying to spread a little kindness wherever the opportunity arises. Here’s where you can donate to those who’ve been affected by the tragic events on April 15th.

It’s a pretty major splurge, but we’d love to snuggle down with our family in these heart print sheets from D. Porthault. They could be a great wedding registry item.

The styling in this bridal-inspired fashion editorial in French Glamour is too edgy for most, but the accessories would be amazing on anyone.

These retro wedding cakes are some of the most original we’ve seen. They look kind of Midcentury Modern, no?

Want something a little less fancy? We’re dying for an occasion to make a doughnut cake.

Why are we so obsessed with cake? Because.

We blogged about Gatsby style here, and now Brooks Brothers has announced an entire Great Gatsby themed collection.

We love this rosé colored dress and mood board. We’d add this.

If you’re planning a beach honeymoon or just getting ready for summer, Beyoncé and H&M have some bikinis to show you. We love the photography and Bey’s womanly curves.

Where shall I wear them, you ask? Ideally, French Polynesia. Where the water is turquoise and the breeze is vanilla-scented.

We loved seeing the Orchid Show. If you’re near NYC, get there before it’s over!

We Love: Nars Blush & Vintage Lace

Let’s forget about tax day looming, and just focus on these links we’re lovin’.

Are you the jealous type? This is hilarious.

Talk about dressing to impress. Is this (scroll down) the most perfectly intimidatingly grown up outfit ever?

You can’t go wrong with this perfect blush. Have you tried it?

Speaking of blush, we’ll be posting more rose gold engagement rings next week!

How cute is this illustrated margarita recipe? We’ll bring the guacamole.

Reminds us of beach weather, which reminds us of these iconic photos.

And this, let’s always remember.

Have a lovely weekend, and maybe a margarita!

We Love: Spring Flowers and Rose Gold

Now that spring’s well underway and we’re seeing some blooms, we’re in the mood for color. Exuberant brights, classic pastels and everything in between, please. Here’s our weekly roundup of colorful links to inspire and amuse you. Have a lovely weekend!

First, we’d love to introduce you to Alexandra Rose, one of our brand new designs in romantic rose gold. A little pop of color and an abstract, flowery design feels so right for a spring engagement.

Speaking of flowers, check these pretty floral backdrops for your reception. They’d be cool for a ceremony, too, don’t you think?

Brides to be! Are you ready for this diy pressed flower iphone case? A great memento of the big day, no?

Wow this wedding is gorgeous.

Wow these soap rocks are gorgeous. Perfect hostess gift.

Wow these photos of the Painted Desert in Utah are gorgeous. Perfect road trip idea.

When did this happen? Polka dots suddenly look so cool. We’d love to see a wedding inspired by these bold colors with dots as the unifying theme.

Cute video about J Crew shoes. Colors and patterns galore, and so many cool wear-again options for under a wedding dress!

Which brings us to the wild patterns and colors of artist Andrea Bergart. We just discovered her, and her artwork feels young, fun and perfect for the weekend!

Want to seal the deal? Forget “Engagement Chicken.” It’s all about the pasta.

We Love: Great Gatsby Wedding

We love decadent Art Deco style, so we can’t wait to see Baz Luhrmann’s new Gatsby movie when it opens May 10. Lovely ingenue Carey Mulligan stars in the role of Daisy Buchanan, and the crazy-good costumes are by Prada!

We’ve been checking out Gatsby inspired design around the interwebs this week, and we’ve found a few Gatsby-esque things We Love.

The movie trailer for Gatsby 2013.

The trailer for the 1974 Gatsby with Robert Redford, Mia Farrow and Bruce Dern.

And this blog post, comparing the fashions of the two!

The chicest book cover design.

Great Gatsby wedding invitations.

Our luxe new Gastby-esque engagement ring designs.

And for the grand finale, Kate Moss’s self described rock and roll Great Gatsby Wedding!

We Love: Agate Stone & the Monarch Butterfly

It’s spring again! And along with the flowers and monarch butterflies we love, it’s brought the overpowering urge to paint it white like so. And so!

We’re also feeling The Forest Feast blog’s fresh food in a woodsy wonderland!

So much love. We dare you to watch this emotional wedding video and not cry.

How does Cupcakes & Cashmere’s Grayed Out’ style inspiration make a monochromatic t shirt and jeans look so cool and rebellious? Maybe the matching stilettos and snakeskin clutch?

We came across these gem-like agate trivets and rediscovered how glamorous nature can be. We’ll take one of each, please.

How relaxing does this dreamy rental home look? Just looking at the pictures is like a spa vacation.

Or are you planning a beach honeymoon? They say everyone looks like a goddess in this Athena bathing suit.

Can’t decide whether to eat superfoods or chocolate cake? Here’s both in one!

Are you on Pinterest? Check out Lindsay from Darling Clementine’s ‘Parenthood’ board. It’s the bee’s knees.

And finally, here’s the new epic installation art by Christo. What do you think?

Have a fabulous, beautiful spring weekend!

We Love: Fashion Bloggers & Art Photography

This week, we noticed these St. Patrick’s themed recipes on Epicurious, which go brilliantly with our post on emerald engagement rings.

We discovered 6 influential design bloggers to follow. (We already knew about the seventh one, Because It’s Awesome.)

We loved this interior designer’s own home, combining 19th century architecture with eclectic furniture and cool, contemporary art.

We watched this fun installation art video.

This weekend, we want to bake these triple chocolate scones.

And read these week’s end blog posts from Cup of Jo, Cupcakes and Cashmere and A Girl, A Style.

And spend time with Beatrice Jansen’s still life photography.

What’s your plan for the weekend? We hope it’s a great one.

We’d love you to Like us on Facebook, and talk to us in this blog’s comments.

We Love: Vintage-Inspired Wedding Headpieces

This story from 100 Layer Cake made us think about our obsession with perfection. It’s a great thing when we’re making your Jeff Cooper rings, but the rest of the time? It’s great to take chances and enjoy the happy accidents life brings us.

Like rain on your wedding day. It’s supposed to be a problem, but for Kory, it was the highlight of her wedding day.

Towards the end of our first dance, an incredible lightning storm started appearing all around us, the rain-less type of insane lightning you only see out in big sky country. A little bit after, it rained for about ten minutes, and then it HAILED for another ten minutes (nickel-sized soft hail, wow). It was absolutely beautiful and amazing. We moved the dance party inside the big garage, and watched the storm. After about twenty minutes the freak storm passed and we all came back outside and continued the dance party in the puddles. It was amazing. Dancing in the puddles with everyone I love has to be my favorite memory from the day.

Just a reminder to ourselves, and all the other perfectionists out there, to be open to wonder wherever you find it. What does perfectly imperfect mean to you? Leave us a comment and let us know!

Enjoy these little surprises from around the web, and have a beautiful weekend!

We know this playful, imaginative “country” home is in Brooklyn, but we still can’t believe it. Via Vogue, via Haute Design.

This is interesting. Little Borrowed Dress lets you rent bridesmaids dresses.

And Lovely Bride did such a pretty piece on Agnes Hart’s Etsy store. Gorgeous, vintage-inspired, handmade headpieces, hats and veils.

Want to know what 13 people wore to be interviewed by Anna Wintour? It’s fascinating, actually.

Sounds like Anna Wintour hates vintage, but this blouse from Anthropologie is so good. Downton Abbey style!

And a recipe for a single serving of chocolate chip cookies. We can’t decide if this is silly or brilliant. Maybe both.

Like us on Facebook, we’re giving away a diamond pendant!
