Moms Rock!

Motherhood: All love begins and ends there. So said Robert Browning, and it’s true for all of us.

Does your family have any special Mother’s Day traditions? We just like to spend the day outside with the kids, have lunch out and treat Mom like the queen she is.

So in honor of our miraculous, beautiful moms, here’s our list of links we’re loving. Have a wonderful weekend!

Are you anywhere near Houston, Texas? We’re jealous. We would love love love to see this art installation by Soo Sunny Park.

We love the idea of bridesmaids in wearable, sophisticated dresses. And so do they! We wrote about using a statement lipcolor to dress up a simple bridesmaid’s dress. And here’s another idea we love…

We came across not one, but two amazing collections of every conceivable earring. They’d be great accessories for bridesmaids, for dressing up your LBD or with a fancy updo, but we’d also wear some of them with a t shirt and jeans. What do you think of these? And these?

Who’s up for a road trip? You don’t have to be honeymooning to do these. We’ve done NY to Maine many times and it’s heaven.

Bring on the ombre wedding details. You know how much we love it!

And if you want to save your wedding gown for future generations, this wedding gown preservation kit guarantees that your dress wont yellow for at least 100 years!

This a great read, and a great last minute Mother’s Day gift, and here’s a cool link to things we didn’t know about the elegant Jackie O.

Happy Mother’s Day weekend!

We Love: Great Gatsby Wedding

We love decadent Art Deco style, so we can’t wait to see Baz Luhrmann’s new Gatsby movie when it opens May 10. Lovely ingenue Carey Mulligan stars in the role of Daisy Buchanan, and the crazy-good costumes are by Prada!

We’ve been checking out Gatsby inspired design around the interwebs this week, and we’ve found a few Gatsby-esque things We Love.

The movie trailer for Gatsby 2013.

The trailer for the 1974 Gatsby with Robert Redford, Mia Farrow and Bruce Dern.

And this blog post, comparing the fashions of the two!

The chicest book cover design.

Great Gatsby wedding invitations.

Our luxe new Gastby-esque engagement ring designs.

And for the grand finale, Kate Moss’s self described rock and roll Great Gatsby Wedding!

Let us know in the comments if you find any incredible Gatsby Wedding accoutrements.

We Love: Wedding Music & Red Dresses

Winters on Long Island remind us of Milton Avery’s late seascapes. Quiet, muted colors with a subtle shimmer, and his trademark simple composition.

According to Mark Rothko, Milton Avery’s artistic repertoire was a lot like ours: his living room, Central Park, his wife Sally, his daughter March, the beaches and mountains where they summered. We totally identify. This winter it’s all about things that are close to our hearts and close to home.

Here’s our weekly snapshot of fun from around the web.

‘Tis the season for red dresses.

‘Tis also the season for reindeer cookies!

Yet another way to be everyone’s favorite guest? These great New York wines have the best labels. Especially the winter-chic 2010 Clones.

If you’re putting together a wedding playlist, check out the 50 greatest hip hop songs of all time.

We’re also loving these fabulous sashes to accessorize a wedding dress.

Here’s another good one for wedding planning. Champagne’s less-expensive, just-as-sparkly cousins.

Of a Kind is so much fun to browse. Every single thing on the site is a crazy cool limited edition.

How cute and funny are these?

Stay warm this weekend! See you Monday.
