Romantic Proposals & Masala Chai Tea

As St. Francis Xavier said, “Be great in little things.”

And this is what we’re meditating on this week. The love you pour into little moments, small gestures, fine details, it all adds up to who you are and what you stand for.

Let’s make this weekend ridiculously amazing, one little thing at a time!

Like this: this week we heard from Ryan, who wrote, “She said… yes! I just got engaged last week with a beautiful custom ring you all made.” Our featured image is his amazing, heartfelt proposal.

And here’s the ring, nestled in a red, red rose!

So gorgeous, right?

Now, let’s take a moment to make it feel like a fall weekend from heaven.

Who needs a pumpkin spice latte when you can create something spicy and warm to hold and savor: A lovely cup of chai tea!

Want more warm, cozy love? Carrot soup is awesome.

Okay, one more! Vegan carrot cake with coconut whipped cream. Amazing and seasonal.

Are you too tired to go out? Got kids? Don’t give up on romance! Try this adorable “Date Night In.” Then, try this one.

Actually want to go out and feel that crisp air? Here are NY’s food events this fall. Yum.

Getting married? We never get over ombre wedding details. Never, ever. It’s so pretty! The pink is perfect with these rose gold Jeff Cooper designs.

And check this rose gold stunner, a recent custom design for one of our couples!

We love this refined, simple cake topper, too. Cute, but not cutesy.

Congrats to the beautiful Jeff Cooper couple Ryan and Jessica!

Moms Rock!

Motherhood: All love begins and ends there. So said Robert Browning, and it’s true for all of us.

Does your family have any special Mother’s Day traditions? We just like to spend the day outside with the kids, have lunch out and treat Mom like the queen she is.

So in honor of our miraculous, beautiful moms, here’s our list of links we’re loving. Have a wonderful weekend!

Are you anywhere near Houston, Texas? We’re jealous. We would love love love to see this art installation by Soo Sunny Park.

We love the idea of bridesmaids in wearable, sophisticated dresses. And so do they! We wrote about using a statement lipcolor to dress up a simple bridesmaid’s dress. And here’s another idea we love…

We came across not one, but two amazing collections of every conceivable earring. They’d be great accessories for bridesmaids, for dressing up your LBD or with a fancy updo, but we’d also wear some of them with a t shirt and jeans. What do you think of these? And these?

Who’s up for a road trip? You don’t have to be honeymooning to do these. We’ve done NY to Maine many times and it’s heaven.

Bring on the ombre wedding details. You know how much we love it!

And if you want to save your wedding gown for future generations, this wedding gown preservation kit guarantees that your dress wont yellow for at least 100 years!

This a great read, and a great last minute Mother’s Day gift, and here’s a cool link to things we didn’t know about the elegant Jackie O.

Happy Mother’s Day weekend!

We Love: Ombre Weddings

Keeping tabs on wedding trends is one of our favorite things, and ombre is one trend that clearly isn’t going anywhere. When done well, that subtle shift from deep to pale, or hue to hue is the loveliest. Maybe ombre hair is on its way out, but ombre wedding dresses, ombre wedding cakes and ombre bouquets? Still awesome.

Here are some perfect ombre flower arrangements via Grey Likes Weddings.

Gwen Stefani’s ombre gown is considered one of the best wedding dresses of all time.

And here come the (less famous, still gorgeous) ombre wedding dresses, via The Bold Bride.

Wouldn’t these make great ombre wedding favors?

Click through our slideshow above for some of the prettiest ombre wedding cakes. (Photos via Green Wedding Shoes and Brooklyn Bride.)

Want more? These ombre wedding cakes look pretty amazing, too.

So, are you still loving ombre? What do you think the next big wedding trend will be? Tell it in the comments!
